For over forty years, the Brighenti family has been providing hospitality in the scenic Farmington Valley. The hotel started originally as a 24 unit motel in 1955, and through two expansions has grown into a 160 room hotel with an atrium lobby and outdoor pool. The facility is comprised of standard and luxury rooms; meeting and banquet facilities; and Seasons Restaurant and English-style pub. The warmth and charm of the hotel radiates throughout the guest rooms and open areas, all tastefully decorated with brass chandeliers, fine furnishings, and bouquets of fresh flowers and seasonal plants. More than four hundred watercolors of Farmington Valley scenes painted by local artists complement the hotel's decor. In 1996, Avon Old Farms Hotel became one of the four family hotels marketed as Classic Hotels of Connecticut. The other three are the Farmington Inn, The Simsbury 1820 House, and The Simsbury Inn.
